Far too many so-called ‘leaders’ labor under the misconception that their ‘subordinates’ owe THEM upward loyalty.   It would be a good thing if more so-called ‘superiors’ realized it is they who owe loyalty ‘downward’ before they should ever can expect it ‘upward.’ A ‘boss’ who takes credit for work performed by others, who exhibits a lazy work ethic, who shows favoritism, who gaslights his subordinates and does not provide a safe, secure, and interference-free work environment is not someone people follow; such a man’s subordinates will give him nothing more than ersatz respect borne of mere obligation.

“Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham,
which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.” Micah 7:20
