Dear Mr President,
i.e., Mr Trump,
Hi, it’s Patrick again. How have you been? Congrats on staying married to Mrs Tee number Three for as long as you have. Kudos. I keep praying for you that this woman will help you find your smile, but evidently that’s not happening. I visit the VA a lot, and your picture hanging right at the entrance. Goodness! You are grouchy looking! Are you trying to scare us Veterans away? (we’re not scared of pictures, remember we had look at Biden for four years)
It’s OK though, we ground pounders are used to gruff behavior. The tone of that print of you takes me back to when I was in the Cavalry in Iraq that time: nothing to smile about there either. I am just curious: what do you have to frown about? you have what you have to frown about. It’s the New York thing again, right? But I persevere.
I also see that you’re still not taking those debating and extemporaneous speech lessons (available in the optional tap dancing package.) lessons I suggested, are you? I’m frankly disappointed that you have not responded to my first six emails, but I know you’re busy.
One thing: if you’re going to say that you support Christian virtues and/or Christians in general, and especially if you say that you are one, it might be a good idea to know a Bible verse or two. I’m not condemning, I’m just saying you sounded out of practice. John 3:16 is a good one to start with. I’ve included the text of it below.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
I suggest having that passage in your mental hip pocket for the next time some reporter asks you about the Bible – it’ll suffice, I’m sure. After all, any reporter you’re likely to meet will not know much about that book either, maybe quiz him next time.
I have one request, and I know this is kind of a big ask, but consider it, please:
You have likely never given a speech to the cadets at USMA (West Point). (Now, I know you visited and talked in public recently to the graduating class at West Point) – Don’t worry, you still haven’t delivered a speech to them… checkout General Douglas MacArthur’s effort called “Duty, Honor, Country.”
Mr. Trump, Keep pissing them off, those snowflakes wouldn’t know a real challenge if it bit their boat in half….
Warmest regards, and I remain,
Skeptically yours,
Patrick
